- First install the left part and mount it on the seal plate.
- Then install the rotating ring on the right side. Inspect the surfaces of the rotating ring and the stationary ring to ensure they are clean without dirt and rust.
- Then install the flat key and impeller again, and fit on the gasket and nut. Before installation, carefully check the quantity of the mechanical seal parts to ensure all parts are undamaged. In particular, check if the rotating and stationary rings have bruises, cracks or deformation defects. If any problem is found, repair the parts or replace them with new spare ones.
- Inspect the chamfers of the shaft sleeve or gland of the centrifugal pump to ensure proper installation; replace them if there is any problem.
- Before installation, clean all components of the mechanical seal and their related assembly contact surfaces with acetone or anhydrous ethanol, and keep them clean and tidy during installation. In particular, the rotating ring, stationary ring and auxiliary sealing components must be free of impurities and dust. Apply a layer of clean engine oil or turbine oil on the surfaces of the rotating and stationary rings. Tighten the gland only after aligning the coupling, and make sure to fasten the bolts tightly to prevent the section of the gland from tilting. Check various points with a feeler gauge or professional tools to ensure all errors are within 0.05mm.
- The rotating ring of the centrifugal pump should rotate flexibly after installation, and it should spring back when pressed against the spring. First fit the stationary ring sealing ring on the back of the stationary ring, then install it into the end of the seal cover. Pay attention to protecting the end face of the stationary ring and ensure the perpendicularity between the section of the stationary ring and the center line of the end cover. Align the anti-rotation groove on the back of the stationary ring with the anti-rotation pin, and avoid mutual collision during installation.
- Handle the seal gently during installation to prevent damage to the sealing parts. When installing a chemical centrifugal pump, make sure to scrub the seal and the cavity clean.
